VIRTUE AND PALLADIUM GO EXPLORING IN TOKYO
VIRTUE and Palladium team up for the latest installment of the Palladium Exploration series. Hosted by Pharell Williams, this episode took us to Tokyo where we checked out the bustling Japanese capital. We wanted to see for ourselves how the young creative class of Tokyo was dealing with the aftermath of the events of 3/11. Descending into the underground temple that rests several stories beneath the surface we experienced a concrete example of Tokyo's ability to triumph through innovation and persistence. That same resilience was apparent in the D.I.Y. spaces and art galleries we visited—we found a class of young people who were willing to go the distance for Tokyo in the face of adversity. Check out the Tokyo exploration and more over at Palladiumboots.com. |

PALLADIUM EXPLORES PIRATE RADIO IN LONDON
Palladium has officially come back to Europe. Starting in the UK, the legendary boot brand has released a new exploration, searching London's inner city tower blocks to find illegal pirate radio antennas hidden in plain sight. Watch the full piece here.
Born in the 1960's, the original pirates found an offshore base of operations in rusting anti-aircraft towers standing in the mouth of the River Thames. These strange structures remain today and Palladium took a boat ride to climb aboard and see where pirate radio started.
The release was marked by an event in conjunction with retailer size?, held in Shoreditch at The Old Blue Last, voted the UK's best live music venue by the NME. The event included the first public screening of Palladium's London Pirate Radio documentary film, and performances by DJ's and MC's from the film, including Logan Sama, J2K, Jammer and Ms Dynamite. Featured in the documentary, London-based grime DJ Logan Sama has put together an exclusive mix for Palladium, streaming here. |
